speakerWhat People Are Saying

Every lesson plan, activity, and unit that I design has modifications and accommodations in place to meet the needs of a diverse population of students. Many of my designs are also cross-curricular and meet standards in several subject areas and grade levels. I have participated in 30+ hours of service learning at local schools. I have worked closely with teachers to supplement their lessons with engaging activities. -- Shaughnessy Noland

Shaughnessy possesses phenomenal organizational skills and continues to add to her tools for diversity instruction with both regular students and those of special needs. Shaughnessy’s teaching focus has always been on the diversity of special education students, focusing on, but not limited to, autism. She continuously shares the adaptations possible for interactive lessons of regular education with her classmates in the teacher education classes she attends. Her input helps her classmates that are focusing on an inclusive regular education class see the possibilities for diversity and inclusion for all students. -- University Faculty

It was evident from my class that Shaughnessy Nolan is an excellent student, peer coach and teacher. She demonstrated effective teaching and intervention strategies during her participation in our Reading Academies. She has been an asset to our teacher education program and an inspiration to other teacher candidates. -- University Faculty
