Soul Tending Teacher Learning
Soul Tending Teacher is a learning object for students to discover inner teaching wisdom. Students have a wealth of wisdom and truth to share. Diverse philosophical activities are used to help students evaluate gifts. The exercises offer a new way for students to look within and reflect upon their talents. Evidence that Soul Tending Teacher enhances student learning is present in pretest/post-test evaluations and in the comments about the depth of engagement during the process.
Students who journal and evaluate their experience on pre-post tests, and who identify and reflect upon unique individual special talents and characteristics, bring a greater awareness to their learning and future teaching career. I see their increased confidence and creativity as students discover individual specialties they have been preparing for simply by living their lives and their experiences. They discover through reflection that some experiences that they previously considered negative have been the most developmentally useful to their future careers.
