In order to model technology integration, UMHB teacher educators implemented a one-to-one iPad initiative in a summer camp setting. Pre-service teachers worked with middle school students during the summer camp, engaging the participants in research and technology applications.
The purpose of the technology camp project was to investigate technology integration in teaching, specifically using iPads. The Learning with Technology camp involved middle school students and pre-service teachers who were in either a technology course or a discipline-based literacy course. The teachers used the iPads with the students to work on iPad applications and the use of technology to access information and to create products.
