  • About Our Practice

This is the foundation course for a series of reading courses for students seeking certification in ED-6 or 4-8. The course allows the students to develop important background knowledge using computer modules, discussing and extending that knowledge in class, and applying that information through working with second grade students in a controlled environment.

  • Key Practice Features

Several strategies are combined to create a learning environment that is academically rigorous and authentic. Online modules guide the students in gathering information from articles, books, blogs, and videos. Each module has a built in accountability measure that must be completed at 90%accuracy before the next module or associated assignment will open. The most important component is the eight week teaching experience in a local elementary school. Students teach small groups of students once a week for eight weeks.
