About Our Program
At Abilene Christian University, EC-6 teacher candidates complete an intentionally designed series of field-based experiences. These experiences begin in the candidate’s sophomore year and continue through graduation.
Full-time faculty participation in student teaching supervision is a core part of the program. This type of participation more effectively supports our candidates in connecting theory and practice. Throughout their student teaching experience, candidates reflect using TxBESS reflection structures and build a program e-portfolio that includes artifacts from their student teaching experience.
